1989 - Gymnasium P. Bezruč in Frydek-Mistek.
1995 - Ing. (MSc.) degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Technology, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava.
2002 - Ph.D. in field of Telecommunication Engineering, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava.
2009 - appointed an Associate professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering, habilitation thesis "Impact of network security on voice quality", VŠB-Technical Univerzity of Ostrava.

Professional experience:
1995-2009 - the position of an Assistant professor, FEI VSB-TU Ostrava.
Since 2009 - the position of an Associate professor, FEI VSB-TU Ostrava.
2009-2013 - Deputy Chief of Dpt. of Telecommunications, FEI VSB-TU Ostrava.
Since 2013 - Departmnent Chair, Department of Telecommunications, FEI VSB-TU Ostrava.
