Bit Error Probability

It is used by EDGE technology to select the most suitable modulation and coding. Compared to RxQual, BEP better shows channel quality and changing transmission conditions because measurement are performed for each burst of blocks received in one SACCH multiframe. BEP represents a longer measurement time and results better show problems in packet transmission.
