RSRP is the linear average of the received reference signal level. These reference signals, which are specific to each cell, are transmitted using the source elements. Thanks to RSRP, it is possible to compare the strengths of signals from individual cells in LTE networks. It is important parameter for cell selection or handover. RSRP is the equivalent of the RSCP parameter used in UMTS systems.
